Don't worry JH, - I'll be SS and the German OC1 too. While it will be fab if we can get a majority of FJ (the event concept being para vs para), SS and Heer are just as authentic to the scenario and will have no lesser part to play.
I'll be Heer for this, unless I can pick up a Jump Smock and skit lid before then, a trip to Sgt.Heide's shop of helmet before then I think

By this stage of the war, FJ kit was extremely varied, with any of the below quite acceptable:
Green, splinter or tan/water smock, or "Luftwaffe FD" splinter jacket.
Gas mask tin or cloth holder
Jump boots, low boots or even jackboots
M38 or M35 helmet (LW blue). LW sidecap or ski cap acceptable (although helmets were much more common in combat)
K98 bandolier or leather K98 pouches, 3 or 6-mag MP40 pouches, G43 pouches (if anybody's got one!)
Therefore, if we put up a "kit available to borrow" thread (nearer the time!), I'm sure we could help a few to join the FJ contingent.

Yes indeed. In 'It never snows in September' it even describes the exact troops involved in the battle wearing such a mix. I'm going to see if I can find the film of it since it is referenced. Alot of the troops were also transfers and recent conscripts to the kit would likely be even more varied than that.

You can find that forum members can be incredibly generous when it comes to loaning kit. I'll have spare US line/glider infantry kit to spare if you, or anyone else should need it.

Oct '44 was the tailend of a reasonably warm and dry summer in NW Europe. Add to that the 82nd's work in Italy and North Africa and you could have an authentic skin tone.
82nd for me Been building up my Market Garden loadout for months now. Just a quick rebadge and i'm good to go.
